I haven’t done much work on Little Backup Box until recently, but Stefan Saam has. He has contributed an impressive number of improvements and new functionality.
- Let’s start with the most important change: Little Backup Box now displays progress stats (provided there is an LCD installed). This includes the total number of files to transfer, the number of already transferred files, percentage, and even a progress bar.
- The way LCD displays information has been significantly improved as well.
- Little Backup Box can now handle iOS devices, so you can use it to back up photos stored on your iPhone or iPad.
- The web UI features several new buttons that make it easier to start the desired backup job. There are also three custom buttons that you can use to assign any action you like. The web UI also features a real-time log monitor that allows you to keep tabs on Little Back Box activity.
- There is also a new section in the web UI called Repair that can be used to check and repair storage devices. Currently, it supports ext2, ext3, and ext4 filesystems.
- The email feature now supports HTML-formatted emails, and if you enable the notification option, you’ll receive an email with a backup log when the backup action is completed.
