Local vs. Global Edits: Some parameters inoperative

I’d like to adjust the hue of the girl’s skin without affecting the yellow in the background. I can get the Adjust Skintones by Hue to work globally in the Vibrance tool, but not locally using the Selective Editing tool. Is this a known issue? Or do you have any ideas what I might be doing wrong. Thanks in advance.

Not shown in the video: The Selective Editing power icon is in ‘on’ position (lit up), and the her face is properly masked.

For me the effect applies once I adjust the Warm/Cool & Color Artifacts slider.

Thanks for the reply. Just so I understand correctly, you use that slider along with the Hue by Hue (H/H) skin tone editor? Or instead of it? The slider alone doesn’t give me the effect I’m looking for.

It seems to me like the HH curve is being multiplied (from negative to positive) by the Warm/Cool & Color Artifacts slider, and the slider is just a multiplication factor for at least the HH curve if not other parts of the tool.

Your explanation makes sense, and I can see some changes once that slider is a non-zero number. Still the tool works much differently when using globally within the Vibrance tool. I’m getting different results between the two methods. I suppose this is more of a quirk than a bug.

In many/most cases “global” and selective tools aren’t equivalent and don’t share the same name. Vibrance Vs vibrance & varm/cool in this case.

Even when slider names are identical they won’t have the same effect depending on the context/module they are in.
