Thanks for your image. My attempt DT 4.4.2.

I suspect that there is a lot of yellow/red dust in the air - so have used both colour correction and graduated density to try to move the sky towards blue.

IMO it looks merely arid rather than an out-and-out desert (i.e., Atacama) with sand dunes, playa, etc. However, it’s apparently Mediterranean.

Well, Matera lies in southern Italy. There is no desert

BTW, “The Passion of the Christ” was produced in this region, also several other movies playing 20 centuries ago :wink:

60 minutes in the US did a story on the amazing history of the place and of the evacuation in the 50’s followed by the reopening and revitalization… its on my bucket list to visit…
