Hard to explain. A jar with water, oil, glycerin over two pieces of cardboard. Lots of light.

From outside the pale, I wonder how a color can be “maxed”? Like in RGB 0-255 per channel and for example a color 10,10,254, “maxing” it to 10,10,255 would make no discernible difference to it’s appearance.
So I decomposed it to Hue, Saturation, Lightness in the the GIMP, set the Saturation layer to max (255) and re-composed it.

When it comes to tweaking such an image, it’s easy to play around with the different hues.
I do not understand what you did but the result is nice. Very vibrant and light.
