Using a ZWO ASI2600MC Pro, usually Bin 2 because I’m at a long focal length with a 14" ACF with an 0.62x Optec reducer…
In Siril Photometric Color Calibration, I see that at Bin 1 it grabs the correct pixel size (3.76n) but at Bin 2 it reports 15.04, when in fact it should be 7.52n. I’m always overriding it manually. Is that a bug, either Buy By User or Bug in Siril or Bug in the camera?
Welcome!
There are two ways for acquisition software to report binning: some give the binning value and original pixel size of the camera, some give the binning value and the binned pixel size.
In the preferences we have added a way to specify which of the two your acquisition software is using, so you don’t have to change it every time in the tools that use that.
Look for Update pixel size of binned images in Preferences (GUI) — Siril 1.2.0 documentation
I see in my Preferences, it is currently checked. So apparently, using the ZWO/ASIAIR source I’m doubling the pixel size in error. I presume in my case I must uncheck, and it will report 7.52 as reported by the ASIAIR software?
