Hi everyone,
I’ve been getting this warning recently, and I don’t understand what’s causing it.

Have you by any chance been using a version from master or daily build, or an experimental fork, and then gone back to a stable version? For me, “demosaic” is at version 6, and I’m using darktable 5.6.2
When I tested master and went back to stable, something similar happened with my ‘auto set’ demosaic preset, and every image was being defaulted to PPG!
So if you tried master, then the wrong new version might now be baked into your preset; I think the easiest thing is to delete and remake the preset.
I have a build of darktable compiled form the source that I usually test on a staging folder like darktable-nightly --library :memory: ~/Staging/* to avoid touching the stable db. I’m pretty sure I never used it on my stable 5.6.2 library.
But do you turn off xmp writing?
I think the best way for testing is to use the config folder flag and then configure it not to use xmp.
