Moodboard software

I didn’t find a good software for creating moodboards for my shootings. Nextcloud Whiteboard works but is not ideal. Are there any great freesoftware projects I didn’t find yet? It needs to have online sharing fuctions.

What is a “moodboard”?

Typically used in portrait photography to collect ideas and sample images for the model to see some ideas for the shooting.

Got it! Thanks for the quick response.

There’s BeeRef, but I’m not sure about the development state. Still an early version (not 100 % stable and not data loss proof, at least when judging by the github interaction). I’ve used it a couple of years ago, but then I was not able to use it anymore on a new OS version due to some bug. But it was promising at least.

looks interesting thanks, but lacks the web component. I’d want to host it myself in the end.

I’ve been looking for something similar for a while now as well. One of the posts on here mentioned https://penpot.app. Check it out, may work for you.

May I ask, how do you store the images you come across, say on Pinterest or reddit or wherever. All of them are currently saved as screenshots on my phone and I’m looking to save them somewhere with Tags. That way if I would like to show a model some additional poses, etc I can just filter them out.

Ah yes, thank you. I knew about pen pot but didn’t think about it in this context. I guess this is perfect. Thank you!

Don’t ask me how I store the images because I just have a big folder completely unsearchable right now. Would be nice to have something you are thinking about

I use BeeRef regularly. The latest AppImage works fine on Fedora 42. Never crashed on me in the three years I’ve been using it.
