I use digiKam/RT/Gimp as my workflow. If I need to move photos from one folder to another I do it in RT.
If I move the photos in digiKam the .pp3 file is not moved along with the photo and RT doesn’t find it anmore. If I move the photo in RT everything seems to work, digiKam even still finds the moved photo by tag search.
Is moving the photos in RT the correct way to do it? How do you handle this?
Yes. To be more precise, If you need to make more edits from where you left off in the image then the .pp3 file needs to be moved with the image so RT can access it and the image in the new location.
I’m not near the computer to check, but I think that in digiKam you can define file extensions that should be considered sidecar files, and then every file management action is applied to both the photo and sidecar files.
My current settings are pp3 arp out.pp3 out.arp, works as expected.
