I first heard about MPV in this thread.
Since then I rarely use VLC.
Recently, I found out that there is an MPV app available in the Google Play Store. So, I installed it on my Nvidia Shield. The interface isn’t exactly as intuitive as other players. I still haven’t been able to access my NAS through MPV’s interface, but I was able to use Nova player and allowed the option for other available players. So far, that’s the only way that I can access anything on my NAS. The MPV interface will only show folders on the NAS, but no files of any kind. The other players I have installed on the Shield besides Nova are VLC and Kodi. They all have no trouble with the NAS. I haven’t found anything useful on the web yet. I was hoping that someone could steer me in the right direction.
