Music in Glasgow

Now that dt is offering support for my new camera I thought I give you something to play with.

I made this shot on my last holiday in Glasgow and thought it has some potential even though I was already quite unsure how to capture the scene. And at home I struggled to find the twist for this shot. Now I tried it again and ended here, asking me what you will make out of it:

I was expecting to find a performing band in Glasgow in this thread
Anyway I might chip in my edit in the afternoon, I’ve got a few ideas…

I somehow prefer the quietness of the b&w version…

Seems @Popanz subdued the red Music plate a lot to get more balance in the image. Which ‘automatically’ happened in your b&w version.

I turned it into a vinyl record cover. Not sure which band?

Had to look it up.
It’s name is ‘Gate to Music’ founded just a short while ago, april 11th I believe.

Alternative name of the band: ‘expose 2 the right’ as they always have their main speakers positioned on the right hand side of the stage…

Will start working on this one shortly.

Decided to remove contrast from those pink windows. Again, needed AgX pivot quite high to keep contrast in the stone pillars.

Another fun one to play with…!

My take

Part of the fun was to measure the red frame line while the frame module was below the step to monochrome. And then move it back above.

The rest is rather straight forward except for a tone equalizer instance with a steep gradient for to lighten up only the steer below the ‘Music’ banner.

I’m still running 5.4.1, so no play for me then

Why not then…?

Popanz’s α7 V is not supported in 5.4.1

And… I find 5.6.0 too buggy for everyday use, regarding some UI stuff (see my post in the dt release 5.6.0 thread here)
I’m hoping stuff will get resolved in dot-one release, so I’m waiting for then. I can make do without the new stuff

Thanks, did not think about the cam model not being supported…

Slightly different approach for me. I decided to crop out, well, Glasgow and went for a framed art print look. (Now available at a student poster sale near you  )
