My new, self-made profile picture! Can you find the photo I based it off of?

The idea of making my own profile picture has been in my head for a while, but the logo of my favorite musician (Skrux) inspired me to finally make it.

At first I was thinking I’d make something with owls, but the photo I wanted to trace was not free to use and could be tough to license. Using pixabay artworks could theoretically work, but instead I dug into my photo library looking for something interesting (I wanted it to be a bird) – and I found a peacock shot from last year. So I traced my own photo in Inkscape and as a bonus I can be stress-free when it comes to copyright…

What do you think?

A challenge for you – can you find the photo in the forum? :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

It looks really good. It is surprisingly legible at smaller sizes. Nice job!

Thanks! I’m really happy with how it turned out.

That was my goal pretty much, glad it works. I was often struggling not to add too fine details.

YES! :1st_place_medal:
I was really hoping someone would take the effort and search for it

When I saw the peacock on the left, I immediately knew that’s what I was looking for.

Looks great, David. Didn’t know peacocks cut pizzas, though. lol

I don’t get it :sob:
And I’m kind of afraid what you actually meant :joy:

i think it is your handle, “pizza cutter”

Oooh… that makes sense
Seems like I was heavily overthinking it

Yup. lol

Could be more so in my opinion, but then it would not be as great in larger sizes.

Perfect time to sell those pizza cutters with that logo on the handle.

Yeah, I think this is an ideal compromise, as I plan to use the logo in large size eventually too.

Update #1:

  • Adding text to complete my own brand

Idk if anyone else has it the same way, but the last E looks a bit like a G for me because of the white extra segment compared to the other E

This seems to help it:
