Hey folks, I am making a small thread here for my RawTherapee videos, on the suggestion of someone else so I keep them separate from my darktable tutorials. I made one recently on denoising in RT:

I also have one with some beginner tips:

And finally one on Capture Sharpening:

I’d still like to improve my knowledge of RawTherapee so there may be a few things I left out as I’m more familiar with darktable…

Thanks everyone! Still learning RT but will update with some more tutorials soon. It’s nice to have both DT and RT with their different capabilities!

Not sure if anyone’s seen this or not but my objective for the following video was to make the most concise Rawtherapee intro I could:

No frills, just enough to get you from start to finish (Raw to basic adjustments to export.)

Another very helpful video in the series for an absolute beginner such as myself.
Would it be important to check for oversaturation (clipping) immediately after using these tools.

Pretty much in all your edits, you should keep an eye on the waveform and make sure no color channel clips or goes over the top dottted line. (Mostly - slightly going over in some small number of cases could be unnoticeable, which is why it’s almost important to use your good judgment).

Thank you for sharing with us! The internet is flooded with tutorials for the commercial photo editing solutions …so it can be quite discouraging for beginners to consider Open Source. Your work is one step in the right direction! Thank you.

Thanks a lot Jason for your tutorials on RawTherapee.
They are extremely useful since there is little “documentation”, for this software, on YouTube, for new comers.
Besides your videos are really well done: please, keep them coming :slight_smile:

Thank you @JasonTheBirder, these are excellent tutorials. I imagine that they require a lot of work to prepare but if you have the time, a video on Jacques’ @jdc new game-changer workflow would be a valuable addition.
