Hi everyone, I wish to share my workflow for deep-sky image processing for LRGB composition. It is based on my experience, on tutorials availalbe on siril webpage and on the web, youtube. You can see that there are some questions (in purple font) as I am not sure those steps are in the correct position or it isnìt clear to me how to process correctly. Feel free to comment and advice!
Ciao.
Hi, thanks for sharing this!
If you want to run the PCC, you can do it on the stacked color image before prestretching or luminance composition, I’m not sure the luminance composition preserves the colors completely because there is a color space transformation, but I think that’s still a good base. PCC is supposed to run on linear images, not stretched (see first line of the doc in the warning block).
Hi, thanks for your comment. What do you exactly mean as running PCC on stacked color image? To combine RGB channels in one color image and then run PCC? And the adding Luminance channel? What I do is to combine channels L, R, G and B with RGB Composition tool and then run PCC (of course on linear image).
Oh yes ok, I thought it was a color camera for the RGB and a mono for the luminance, of course it can be done with the 4 channels as mono: make an RGB image with the 3 stacked R, G, B and apply PCC on it. rgbcomp can take a color image for RGB too, so no need to split it later to combine it with luminance
