Compositing in a subtractive pigment-like way has been very confusing and a long journey. However, I think it is almost sorted out and would appreciate some feedback/testing. Download links include Windows and AppImage. The new layer mode is called “Paint”, and there is a slider to control brush pigment mode. I have yet to write up an article on the techniques, but it is essentially a modified Meng+Scott Allen Burns upsampling technique with a weighted geometric mean compositing of straight color. The alpha channel serves as the weights, normalized to sum to 1.0
