Are you able to scrub the timeline? Are you able to render?
Could also be related to GPU drivers, Natron is very picky regarding drivers (at least on Windows). I assume you are using Natron 2.5.0? GPU (and other) issues might be resolved in the next release.
You could also try to disconnect some nodes to see where it fails/crash.
