Need help with an xmp file

I have confused myself.

I had a raw image and an edit with an XMP file. Then, I created a Duplicate and did some deifferent edits. Both edits were posted to this forum.

Several days later, I noticed that the duplicate was missing, No problem, I thought, I can just download the XMP from the forum and have my edit back. Curiously, when I downloaded the XMP, my download manager told me that it was a duplicate. Hmmm.

So, I went to my files and there it was. But the darkroom is no longer showing it. How do I get it back into darkroom as a duplicate?

duplicate any version of that image in light table mode, select the duplicate and in history menu, delete history stack and load history from a sidecar file, select your downloaded xmp.

It should give you your edit back !

Thank you. I have gotten as far as deleting the history stack. I do not see where to load history from a sidecar file. Iā€™m sorry for being so stupid.

Never mind. I found it in History Stack of the Lighttable view. I was still trying to find it in the Darkroom. :dizzy_face:
