[NEVERMIND] Darktable 5.4.1 processing speed regression?

Is it just me? First time I’m using it since the 5.4.1 update, on a freshly switched on, hence cool laptop, with nothing else running. Well, Firefox was with 5 GiB worth of RAM eaten, but I killed it to see if that’s the culprit.

Bottom line is, everything, from the start when the pipeline is basically empty, feels enormously slow, 10x slower than it did before, if not worse. We are talking simple things, like correcting white balance before leaning into the file.

For context, this is on Fedora, working with Fuji X-T4 raw files.

did you turn off opencl by chance?

No, I toggled high quality processing, the idiot that I am. Gonna delete this if I can.

edit: can’t

I’ve troubleshow slow processing numerous (!) times only to discover my notebook wasn’t quite plugged in.

Or the power saver was on (been there, done that)
