new version for when?
Not sure, but if the devs have time to test/finish the Qt5 port, it’s something that could happen within a couple of months.
But as always, speculations, anything can happen. I will try to get more involved in the development/testing.
Thank you, then we will continue waiting, I have a lot of faith in NatrĂłn, I like it a lot and despite using Blender daily, when it comes to post-production I use Natron because of how fast and easy it is to work with.
amazing software , starting to use it . Congratulations to everyone involved !!! like nuke ??? open source ??? owaaaaa
This post-production software promises a lot, please don’t abandon it
Then new developers need to join, else we all know what will happen …
Just please get a new version ready, will you? I’m mostly using Natron as an OFX host for NeatVideo, and it has a memory leak that gets quite ugly above 15000 frames or so. At leat on my Linux Mint. If that can be fixed, new features are of less importance.
I get the impression Natron had a lot of attention when it was being released, but it’s over two years now and the project seems to be forgotten and abandoned. If you could do at least minor bug fix releases the project seems more active and we as users could have faith in it.
Find and bring us new developers willing to work on Natron instead of asking current developers to drop the full time jobs that their livelihood depends on just to work for free to fulfill your expectations.
Current developers are already doing their best with the time that they have outside of their jobs. You need to realise that working on Natron doesn’t even help the developers survive.
If you have found a bug, make a bug report on GitHub. This is not the place for it. Make a report and be patient. If you don’t have the patience and since you only require an OFX host, NeatVideo supports many other OFX hosts (some free; I personally use Hitfilm) so you can just switch.
For some reason I have not gotten any notifications from this forum since last year and have completely forgotten about it
As said, not much will happen in Natron (from me). I could do stuff, but I choice not to as it does not benefit me in any way.
I use Natron maybe a couple of times a year and for debugging some OFX stuff I maintain (outside of Natron).
Since I rarely use it I can’t justify putting any hours into the project.
The only way to get me to contribute anything meaningful is funding, else I don’t have time (I do more than enough free work in other projects).
Sad to say, but that’s life.
