Hi, I’m total new to GIMP. I’m trying to learn some channel mixer stuff and I have the following question:
I open the image, make some changes in channel mixer, I press ok. Now when I check the colors with color picker I get the unaltered, original colors. How can I get the new modified colors with color picker?
Thanks.
If by “channel mixer” is meant a three-channel color mixer with sliders, my version of GIMP does not have one.
Thanks, I’ve never used it before. I just now tried it and got some insane numbers** from the color picker with succeeding settings of the mixer - it looks like the settings are applied to the preceding image, not the base image. But the color picker RGB numbers did change with each adjustment. Had to re-select the picker each time after an adjustment.
** with large adjustments.

Whatever change I do in channel mixer, the picker tells me that the pure red color was not changed. In the snapshot you see left the yellowish-orange color is the result of changed pure red color with channel mixer. The picker reports it as pure red. I use GIMP 3.0.4

Maybe try using sample points
https://docs.gimp.org/3.0/en/gimp-sample-point-dialog.html
This as an example also using split view to compare modified (1) with existing (2)
nope, my version doesn’t do that. I have read that there are some bugs in version 3 … maybe yours is one?
Base background was red but not pure.
Mine was global, no sample points, no selection FWIW.
Awesome functionality! Thanks a lot for info!
