News article for release of G'MIC 3.6

Hi there,

As I do every year, I started writing a news article for the release of G’MIC 3.6.
I wrote it in French first, then used ChatGPT to quickly translate it and get a working draft in English (yes, shame on me, but that took like 5 minutes). Would you be interested in proofreading it and suggesting any corrections? That would be great!

The article is written in Markdown (file available in gmic-community, and I’ve put a preview of how it would appear when integrated in the G’MIC website here :

Any help would be really appreciated ! Because, I’ve already spend 4 days on it, just to write it in French, and I must admit I’m a little tired of reading it over and over again!

Thanks by advance!

Hello David, I just finished your article. I think it’s clear, informative and, thanks heaven, not too long!

Just one thing. You wrote: “The source code is now compatible with the new plugin API of GIMP’s upcoming major release (3.0).” Well, 3.0 is not upcoming anymore, it’s already there!

And I think it’s a good idea to concentrate on the “marketing” of G’MIC instead of endlessly adding new features. I sometimes wonder why programmers never say “This is it, enough!” :upside_down_face:

Thanks @paulmatth for the suggestions.
About the marketing : the fact is, developers (including me  ) often like to code things, but not to document nor do advertising. So when the project is “almost” done in terms of code, there is a high risk the project developer(s) just lose interest in it.

I went over it again, and it looks pretty good. I must admit that ChatGPT’s translation work seems impressive to me (considering how long it took).
I’m going to wait for the French version submitted to LinuxFr.org to be published before publishing this English version.
So please feel free to suggest any improvements you may see!

The French version of the article has just been accepted for publication on the LinuxFr.org website (faster than I expected!):

I’ll probably wait a bit before spreading the URL for the English version
