next live meeting April 30 17:00 UTC

oh :face_with_hand_over_mouth: sorry. Thanks @paperdigits for correcting me.

so many thanks @Matt_Maguire

Archiving the two. Much smaller now. :stuck_out_tongue: Still downloading: interested in how you recorded them and what your transcoding settings were.

Yes, way smaller

I used Shotcut to edit the videos which started being H.264-avc1

The settings where:

  • codec: H.264-nvenc
  • Quality based VBR
  • Quality: 55% (vglobal_quality=23)
  • GOP: 240
  • B frames: 3

Sound at 22050Hz and 128Kb/s

Don’t know if it’s of any use to you, though

I have to add that the blockiness of the mouse picture background was there in the original, caused by the settings in the screen capture app (I think). So all in all, there’s not much lost from the original video.

@XavAL I use Shotcut. Always interested on what others do in terms of settings. I made a stealth edit on my previous post that you may have missed: how did you record the streams?

Yes, I missed it!

I used «Simplescreenrecorder» to record the meeting.

Settings:

  • Record the entire screen (that’s why I didn’t want to touch my computer)
  • Frame rate: 30fps
  • Output profile: High Quality Intermediate
  • Container: matroska
  • Codec: libx264
  • Custom options: preset=slower,crf=15,keyint=1 (I think «crf» is what gave the blockiness)
  • Allow frame skipping: true

I just finished watching the Zoom video. Many thanks for pulling all of this together and making it available for everyone. Really enjoyed the discussions and seeing @Andy_Astbury1 and @jdc working through examples of RT.

Hi Anna- I think the thanks goes to Mat in Australia. But thank you for setting the meeting up. Enjoyed it very much, will start working with a nightly build of RT soon, and take a look at Andre’s youtube videos. Always learn something new at these meetings. All the best.
