Hi,

Is there any foreseen update to support High Efficiency RAW file reads for Nikon Z series?
High efficiency compression uses technology that is closely guarded, so it will take time to support. The official thread tracking the support is at Nikon Z 9 Camera Support · Issue #6408 · RawTherapee/RawTherapee · GitHub.
One of the suggestions on GitHub is to use the Adobe DNG converter to convert the Nikon HE RAW files (both types) to DNG. RawTherapee can read the test files that I converted, but with an error (on the console):
(rawtherapee.exe:47572): Pango-WARNING **: 17:00:17.482: couldn’t load font “Arial Black, Not-Rotated 9.45”, falling back to “Sans Not-Rotated 9.45”, expect ugly output.
Error: Directory Nikon1 with 25665 entries considered invalid; not read.
Even with the error, RawTherapee soldiers on and seems to work OK.
I think it will be easier to just set the camera to the no HE mode instead.
