Yes, only two companies are really making camera sensors: Sony and Canon

It might be a bit controversial, but I think they should go down to 30mpix. It would change up the line abit and give those wanting slightly less mpix an option. An upgrade for a Z7 III would be to chase the Z8/9 specs which seems like a waste of tech.

That is a very spicey take! If they did that, unless the price was much lower than the Z6iii, then they should just not make another one.
I know its too late to do things like this but I would have Z line arranged differently
Z5 entry level , 20mpx , 2 sd card slots , basic video features
ZF entry level , 24mpx , 2 sd card slots , removed video features
Z6 Enthusiast level , 24mpx , 1 sd card , 1cf express , pro video features
Z7 Enthusiast level , 36mpx , 2 sd card slots , basic video features
Z8 Pro Level , 60mpx , 1 sd card slot , 1 cf express , pro video features
Z9 Pro level , 47mpx , 2 cf express slots , pro video features
This way wouldn’t cannibalized the lineup when a new camera is released.

Not sure if I agree, per se (I might switch the video and photo models around, and where is the ZR?), but it seems like you at least put more thought into this than Nikon did.

I didn’t include the ZR since I view that as a video camera with photo features on the side.
Fair, although in a group of photo cameras that might do a spot of video, in a pinch, it would still be fun to see where it’d end up. Also, what’s your take on the APS-C line?

I would just add ibis to the z50 & zfc and increase those 2 models to 24mpx.

Well, I am looking for some new lenses. But the the older F mount equivalent ones are much more reasonable in price…
Oh, I meant what about the FTZ II specifically are you interested in? I could provide some details. Or are you just thinking about it in general?
Mostly the auto focus and does it proper record exif information about the lens used.
It makes different noises than it did on D3500, but AF works very well as far as I can tell.
Seems to check out. Exported photos are labeled as 105mm VR G instead, which is… Weird? I haven’t checked the RAW metadata other than through Darktable so who knows…
Overall, your mileage may vary based on the specific lens, but 1st party lenses should work flawlessly and 3rd party depends, but Sigma is mostly fine. Check each lens individually I guess…

As a Z50II user, I wouldn’t mind that 
My ancient 105mm MicroNikkor works, except the screwdrive autofocus of course, exif is ok and ficus peaking+ibis gives it annew life
My 2006 Sigma 10-20 does not work
My nikkor 70-300 performs better than on the d700
My EF canon lenses perform similarly or better with the Fringer EF2Zii adapter

Yeah, some lenses perform better on Z pro bodies with a TC (faster AF) than on a D body, as tested by Steve Perry some time ago. I forgot whether that applies to no-TC setups as well, but who knows.
