Nikon Z8, Nikon F and 3rd-party lenses not being identified in Darktable

I recently replaced my Z7 and D850 with a Z8 and find none of my F-mount lenses (FTZII) are correctly identified in darktable by the new camera. There were no issues with the same lenses on the Z7. I raised an issue on github/exiv2 (Nikon Z8, Nikon F and 3rd-party lenses not being identified in Darktable · Issue #2980 · Exiv2/exiv2 · GitHub) and was very promptly advised that I need to update exiv2 from current 0.27.5 to 0.27.6. Does anyone know how I go about this as the only version in the Mint/Ubuntu repo is the current one and will it impact darktable?

you probably want to update your lensfun database, the how depends on your OS and can be found out via the search function on the forum here.

Not sufficient - it really is down to exiv2 version, as already instructed.
