No lens profiles available - using DxO Pureraw instead!?

Hello,
i‘m new to darktable and like the level of detail it provides.
Since i am using Hasselblad lenses (xcd 25mm 2.5 f .e.) there are obviously no lens profiles yet. So my idea was to use DxO Pureraw 5 which i own for a long time now as kind of a pre-process to apply their lens profiles.

I already tried some raw processing this way turning of DTs lens and CA correction and it worked great in my view.

Does anybody do the same and could share some thougts or hints?

regards
Reimund

You could of course create the lens profiles yourself and submit them to lensfun if your are willing to do so

Create your own lens correction data for Lensfun – Kameratrollet

I’m going to do this for a couple of my lenses as well.

I’d also imagine that the correction parameters are baked into the raw file, so you could also figure out what those params are and ask that someone code the corrections into darktable.

Are there profiles in the Adobe apps? If so, you can convert the LCP files from Adobe DNG Converter to Lensfun profiles for use in darktable with lensfun-convert-lcp.

Good idea but i can‘t tell if adobe does provide these profiles

You most likely can, but I did just did that for you by installing the Windows version of Adobe DNG Converter (freeware) via Bottles on Linux.

I have the Flatpak version of Bottles and the profiles are located in:

~/.var/app/com.usebottles.bottles/data/bottles/bottles/Adobe-DNG-Converter/drive_c/ProgramData/Adobe/CameraRaw/LensProfiles/1.0/

I found:

Hasselblad (Hasselblad XCD 2.5_25V) - RAW.lcp
Hasselblad (Hasselblad XCD 2.5_25V) v2 - RAW.lcp

This I will have to try out for a couple of my lenses having incomplete profiles in lensfun. Thanks for the tip!
