Now I remember! (plus stuck card trick)

Yesterday, I charged the battery in my old Canon EOS 600D,
and took it for a spin. Rather interesting. But, oh, how noisy it was!
Ka-chonk!

So today, I thought of following it up by charging my semi-old X-T1,
to see what fun I could have with that. Inserted SDHC card. Snapped
a few test shots — and when trying to extract the SDHC card … it refused.
Then it hit me: why did I pension off the X-T1 a few years ago?
Because it ate SDHC cards, that’s why. :frowning:

At least I managed to salvage this card, by using this clever trick:

The Fuji (Canada) advise was to cut a small piece of paper from a playing card ( because they are thin and waxed, I suppose) and to insert it in the card slot on the side of the contacts, this should free the card catching and allow to slide out.

The cardboard after having released the memory card. The scratches were created by the claws that kept the SDHC stuck.

Have fun!

My wife’s late Lumix TZ7 also ate a card. We simply left the card in the camera until the latter completely died, and read the data via USB. Good to know about that trick, though.

That the camera ate my memory card excuse. Canadians to the rescue.
