Nice catch! That’s certainly a jumping spider, but there are so many different ones…
I simply love those little beasts. They actually have a very accurate view, and as far as I know they can distinguish shapes much better than any other spider. The two big eyes are specialized for that. When you get close to them with the camera, you really have the feeling that those jumping spiders are observing you as well… it’s really fun!
I just made the photo brighter. I raised the exposure compensation 1 1/6 stops, plus Filmulator inherently raises the shadows. Literally everything else is the default parameters in Filmulator, though I did recompile it to use LMMSE instead of AMaZE.
Basic WB and and exposure correction in DT and then an RGB decompose in Gimp with some curves and grain. Oh, and a crop, obviously. Although, looking at it now, I’d go in a tad tighter.
Whoot! Jumping spiders are cute! I adore them… and they are awesome aswell. They focus their vision by moving their retina. If you observe them closely you can actually seen that.
