number of darktable downloads and/or installations?

Hi,

is the a fuzzy estimate of the number of dt downloads and/or installations? I understand that this can never be a definite number, because there are many repos that can’t be counted by the team, but is ther something like “we had x-thousand downloads by June 202x” or the likes?

I tried to figure this out once. You can go to the repository, https://github.com/darktable-org/darktabe, and then (IIRC) go into the insights tab and poke around and see what you can find. The last time I checked (5.2 or 5.4) the number of downloads was in the hundreds of thousands.

I just went to insights and couldn’t find anything, so it may have changed

EDIT: Asked copilot on the repository and it said the GitHub API doesn’t keep track of release download statistics
