I’m just curious… here in Aus there’s quite a few real bargains around in the used camera market. Not high-end gear by any means, but decent beginner or even back up options.
Browsing through Gumtree and FB marketplace there’s things like (random pick) Nikon D80 with 2 kit lenses for $175 AUD, or… a Pentax K-x with two lenses + bag, tripod for $200 AUD negotiable.
Obviously this kind of shopping would need (a) a decent amount of caution and (b) a bit of searching and waiting depending what you want, but it seems that it’s a great time to be a budding photographer as long as one doesn’t mind using ‘obsolete’ equipment.
My Pentax K10d was one of those…
