ART with some cropping to align the peak according to the rule of thirds.
Like your’s better. Was trying to do a fake IR but the greens could be made white without wacking out the overall look (no coperation with the greens) so left it like I did. ![]()
For better or worse I chose not to play with the balance of highlights and shadows. DT certainly has the tools to brighten the shadows but maybe their darkness draws your attention to the mountains.

I’ve always imagined that whoever said “you must know the rules so that you can break them” (or words to that effect) surely had the rule of thirds in mind.

A beautiful image, but I had to play!
Mainly sharpening of the peaks, although it has caused a halo on the mountains on the right hand side.
This i struggled with… until I had a play on another post and realised a KISS approach worked well. So here I applied a minimal approach. I hope it looks natural/realistic.
And other posts are so interesting, but I am not trying to match them, although I am in awe of the outputs! It’s amazing what others can do.
A lovely image, thanks for posting! Here’s my attempt using the RawTherapee 5.13 release candidate. I tried to keep it as natural as possible and conserve that unique blue colour you get in the South Island lakes. The pre-tone mapping was done using the Auto black and white points in the GHS module and the output tone mapping was done using the Abstract Profile.
