A previous version of the Pixii has been out for a while, with some rather polarized reviews… now there’s a new one with a 64bit dual core processor with OpenCL!
I don’t know much about this stuff really - is this interesting?
I’d be interesting if it were open, but it isn’t, so you’re still limited by what the manufacturer wants you to do.
Some of their marketing claims make absolutely no sense.
Yep, a pity. Again I don’t really know about this, but apparently the full camera ‘system’ can be accessed over usb … can’t remember where I read it. Pixii do seem a bit tight on info though. Having said that, it’s a very small company…
I’m not making excuses for them - I agree that it’s a shame it’s not properly ‘open’ - but I respect them, for actually managing to start a new camera brand. I’m following with interest 
Out of my budget though…
Yeah its cool to see a camera with upgradable components and some real processing power.
I’ve always wanted a scriptable camera, maybe one day…
