A Kickstarter Campaign is currently running (July 2020) which has successfully funded (in 20 minutes) an AI kit from OpenCV - in fact 2.

  • OAK-1 OpenCV AI Kit OAK1 &
  • OAK-D OpenCV AI Kit DepthOAK-D

Both modules share a 4k/30 12 Mega-Pixel camera on a dedicated AI based image processing card with a powerful VPU. The OAK-D adds stereo monochrome depth cameras. Both come as a dedicated, Raspberry-Pi style processing card with a pre-loaded, Open Source, Image Processing, AI & Computer Vision.

While the camera specification may not be the most exciting I am reasonably user that there is the possibility of using the OAK cards and software as a dedicated image processing card.
