Paint With Brush Not Completing Actions

Hello, all! I love G’MIC’s paint with brush and it has stopped working for me. The final product does not look like the “preview” and it seems unfinished.

I’ve already downloaded, reinstalled, reinstalled GIMP, used as a plug-in and used G’MIC stand alone.

Attached are the original, a screenshot of the preview, and the finished product (all cropped and resized). I’ve also included the settings. Any ideas? I would be bummed beyond description if I can’t get this to work.

Unfortunately, the preview is not accurate in the sense that the filter acts on the preview and not the original image. If you can get the preview to display the entire image in full resolution without resizing, etc., then WYSIWYG.

PS It is odd that the preview is 999x1000. Is that just your crop? One row of pixels missing should not change the result that much, unless the preview processing is different from the actual processing. Sorry, I do not have the time to investigate.

Thank you! I can’t get this tool to preview at anything wider than 100%, so I think I will just have to start running the tool with different settings till the finished product comes out right. Some of my images seem to work fine and come out as previewed, the others (like this one) not so much. Yes, the 999x1000 was just the quick square crop using another tool. The full image is quite large.

If you have not already done so, try the CLI version to see if it works for you. The GUI version has a button that copies the command with parameters for you to paste into the CLI.
