I have my huge amount of photos on an external drive (and on a cloud).
The digikam database is local and it shows thumbnails even when the USB drive is not there… Which is as desired.
Easy for quick lookups and offline tagging etcetera.
However when I click the people tab, the thumbnails are not showing.
Is this by design?
