PhotoFlow version 0.2.5 released

I’ve just released yet another version of PhotoFlow.

The main new feature in this release is a path mask tool that allows to create selections with an arbitrary shape and optional smooth edges. The shape is defined by control points connected by a spline curve. This tool is directly derived from the similar path mask of Darktable, and full credit goes to the DT developers for the code used to generate the spline area and the smooth falloff. The original code has been modified and optimized in PhotoFlow for tile-based processing.
The usage of the path mask is explained in this video.

The second new feature is the possibility to adjust the smoothness of the brush in the freehand drawing tool. Together, this two new features should greatly simplify the creation of smooth opacity masks for local editing.

While the improvements in this version might not seem very impressive, they took a lot of coding to get them work as I wanted…

More details in the PhotoFlow blog.

Thanks for looking, and happy editing!
