Photography clubs, groups or other meetups in Bath or Bristol area of UK?

Are there any pixls members in my area? :wave:I’m located in north Somerset, 30mins from both Bath and Bristol.

I’ve been trying to find a photography club or group to join as I would really like to meet more of my fellow photographers. Socializing has been hard for a while due to mental health issues, but I’m starting to feel a little better, a little restless and would like to connect more, which I know will be helpful mentally as well.

I’ve looked at several local clubs, but haven’t pulled the trigger on joining any for multiple reasons, not least the fact that they usually meet in the evening. My wife and I run to very early hours due to her work - bedtime is 8:30pm usually. :smile:
With a 30min drive to most possible candidates so far, and meetings starting at 7:30pm in most cases, things are not quite working…

Does anyone relate, have solutions that worked for them, or suggestions for meeting up outside of a club framework?

I have considered asking for expressions of interest in an informal meetup on a couple of FB pages that serve as notice boards for our community, but not committed yet…

I live in the same area and have had similar thoughts around local photographic groups. I’ve looked at a few websites but TBH I don’t drive (which cuts out all but the hyper-local groups) and I’m pretty socially introverted, and the very idea of going somewhere with a room full of people I don’t know to talk about (and dissect) what, for me, is a very intentionally solitary and personal activity, kinda fills me with dread.

I live in Bristol and whilst I’ve never actually attended these meetings, there’s a group on Meetup.com called Bristol Photography Group. Many of their events are during the day, their next event is this Saturday at 12:30, a walk around Bishopston.
