I’ve decided to try newest siril beta but unfortunately am facing issues when using the plate solver, I’ve downloaded the local catalog but still face the issue of the plate solver failing despite trying all options I can see in the window.
Going back to 1.2.6. the same image works without any issue.
Pictures were taken on a Canon r6mk2 at 240mm.
I used sirilic to stack the images since it was multi night.
I’ve tried stacking only one night of imaging directly through Siril, both on beta and non beta version. Both tries worked on 1.2.6 for plate solving but not on beta 1 or 2.
Drive link to the stacked image (through Sirilic). It’s of the North America Nebula.
Hi, I tried it, the reported focal length is wrong, it solves with a value closer to the real one: 145.10 mm
Also, stars in the top right corner are very bad, due to a misalignment of the colour channels I believe and heavy optics distortion. With so many stars in the field, threshold for the detection should be increased to make it faster, see Siril - FAQ
That’s weird about the focal length, I did it with a lens that’s 24-240mm and it was fully extended for both the nights.
However, tried reducing it on my side to 145 as well and worked!
