Yesterday I made a small bicycle tour through idyllic landscape near me and took some photos. Since it was very cloudy, light was very flat. Among others I took this photo of a scene that appealed to me a lot and when I came home, I didn’t know how to deal with it:
What really touched me about this rustic motif was the inner peace that this old apple tree with its (still) green leaves and ripe yellow apples and the worn-out bench underneath provided.
I didn’t know how to express this when I processed the photo.
Nice photo @s7habo. I would have used a smaller aperture with slower speed (instead of f/1.4 @ 1/2000) so that the apple on the bench is in proper focus .
Here is an attempt with RT 5.4. To show the age of the tree and the bench, I bleached out colours a bit and added a strong vignette to the lower part. Used Residual Image Tab of Wavelet module to make the grass bright and the bark dark. _DSC9410-1.jpg.out.pp3 (11.2 KB)
I’ve gone for something terrible because I want something for the new image-munching bomb blend filter that I’ve made for G’MIC based on a discussion in another thread.
But of course, I couldn’t resist doing another with a full-on ‘JIFF self-bomb’:
I’m sure that I can’t do better than what you’ve done. The only thing that I might have done differently is to “burn” the patch of dead leaves in the upper left as, in my opinion, it smacks one in the face as the eyes follow the progression of the yellow apples.
@s7habo merci 4 sin-apple-3 and pips contributing all these different versions.
Special thanks to @Joan_Rake1 's chickenpox image ( ) that gave me an eye-aneurism … and inspiration for this beyond WTF thingy =) // around the corner
And some pink proofing. Cheers
PS
I was deleting all the skoria and found this lady from the blood lake
