I took this image using an Neewer IR720 filter and the Fuji X-T2 with the 14mm Fuji lens.
I was trying to make something like here: Przemyslaw Kruk's Haunting Infrared Landscapes Will Stun You
But I consistently failing at processing the image to go to that direction, so I thought to throw a challenge here

My take using darktable:
And the xmp file: DSCF3203.RAF.xmp (6.5 KB)
I hope I did not forgot anything…
Have fun and please share the processing steps!

Difficult task, there is not much color information left.
Is this because the filter is to strong? Or should I try a longer exposure time next time?

No idea, I never “played” with this kind of filters. I only found the challenge interesting.

Thanks!
The picture from Choosing an Infrared Filter - Kolari Vision says everything.
For that look I seem to need a weaker filter.

Here’s my emulation. The masking needs some work, but the idea is there

Nice image. Here is my take. I went the B&W route.
1. PhotoFlow
→ WB (more B) → HL mode (blend) → linear Rec2020 (no clipping) → 32f
2. gmic
→ filter pixels
3. pnmclahe
→ enhance contrast
4. gmic
→ grey scale → adjust contrast, brightness (curves) → enhance contrast (edges) → crop → sharpen (LoG) → resize → vignette → brighten (curve) → frame
Zoom to 100% and enjoy!

I like the crystalline effect it has on the upper sky.
the “cubzism” image itself was not that bad… maybe a bit too a(bs)tractive; cheers mate
