bear. My take is not in colour; it is easier that way. Perhaps I will attempt 
an alt in colour later…
1. gmic → b&w (norm) → double size → sharpen (high freq contrast) → adjust brightness, contrast (curves) → halve size
2. pnmclahe → enhance contrast
