Wow, what a fantastic result!
What is RT5.4? My google-fu failed me.
It is raw therapee, version 5.4.
I’ve been looking at this one from one of the first moments I found out about this site and never felt confident enough to attempt an edit. Well…
Tried to keep it, what I would call natural. I don’t see any reason why Mairi’s face needs to be smoothed or altered in any way. I did need to balance the sharpening: Show all the little details in her face and let the motif of her cardigan(??) be as clear as possible or…
Enough talk, here’s what I came up with:
A bit late to play the game but here is another shot with very basic filmic processing and some de-saturation. Looks a lot darker on this site than my screen jpg.
also quite late to comment. The teal and orange movie effect from @anon41087856 trial is subtle and nice.
Thank you for sharing!
Very nice edit you’ve done patdavid. How do you acheive that glimpsy looking skin?
I went with a warm, soft and rather natural look.
Edited in DT 3.6
Thanks!
Not sure what “glimpsy” might mean for the skin but it’s a normal part of my portrait workflow when I want to fiddle with detail scales:
Pat David: Wavelet Decompose (Again)
I may have done a little dodging and burning selectively as well (wow it’s been a while since I’ve looked at this ).
Such a beautiful portrait… I love it!
My edition, on dt 3.7.0 beta, with just a bit of vignetting and some small softening on the less in in focus area by means of diffuse & sharpen module.
