I came across this image as part of @desmis tutorial on General Hyperbolic Stretch in RawTherapee:

As an exercise, I tried to duplicate Jacques’ GHS edit using regular curves. I got pretty close, but my sun is not as lovely as his:

I may try to duplicate the second part, done with Abstract Profile, but with tools I already know. But not today, my brain has been hyperbolically stretched.
