So you want to add an exposure slider to each of the tone mappers, with the same default for all of them?
That would not work well when someone wants to use two of the tone mappers.
Apart from that, I still don’t see a good reason to move the “default” exposure compensation to the tone mappers, away from the exposure module. If each tone mapper needed a different value, it might be reasonable. As it is, not so much.
Even worse, either the setting in one tone mapper has to be coupled to those of the others, or you get an exposure shift when you change tone mapper. (or the switcher has to read the value from the current tone mapper, if any, and set it in the new one. Great fun if someone the decides to switch manually between tone mappers, and does not get the automatic update)
As for the tone equaliser, you still need to adjust the mask, when you have to adjust the exposure for other reasons than the “camera offset”. Or when you want to use the tone equaliser on part of the tonal range. Or when the range in the image doesn’t cover the whole range.

i am not sure about the added exposure option in the modules , whether it does happen in the BG or with the added slider ??!!!
IAnyhow the slider has no effect in your latest build … moving the slider is doing nothing to the image .

I’m wondering if using two TMs is very common and you could still (and easily) turn down the exposure compensation directly in the first or second TM.
If I understood correctly, base curve and 3DCF added some exposure or brightness to the image whilst the other TMs didn’t. With the TM selector Christian tried to put all TMs on par wrt image brightness, at least for a starting point and for comparison of TMs (which is one of the first editing steps in my workflow, exposure adjustment and TM selection). Base curve and 3DCF don’t have an exposure slider in his current version. Now exposure compensation is more or less at the same level in all TMs and not ‘doubled’ in base curve/3DCF. In previous versions, selecting 3DCF often resulted in too bright an image when exposure compensation was on in the exposure module. At least that was my experience. If TM selector gets implemented I would welcome this approach with the input exposure slider in certain TMs.
I also saw that tone equalizer still needs adjustment of the mask. But in the limited number of images I’ve tested with the latest version, the mask histogram was mostly within the scale. Before it was sometimes completely off.
It sounds a reasonable suggestion, but how does it affect the pipeline where there are a number of modules between Exposure and TM of choice. For me exposure > Tone Equalizer > AGX is pretty standard.
