A little pond surrounded by lush growth, not too far from my house. Well, about a 15 minute drive, that is.
Last night was a little bit cooler than usual by our late summer standards and although the sun was well up by 8:15-ish AM, there was cirrus and other clouds filtering the light down to a softer level. By the time I reached the pond it was starting to get a little harsh, but here’s what I got:
This was 98% ART 1.23 and 2% Affinity Photo (simply for some targeted sharpening that I probably could’ve done in ART). My challenges were to rein in the overly bright yellow-greens and give a little depth to the scene. It looks better than when I started, but I’m not 100% sure it’s really good.
I kept it cool, but lost the colour of the foreground pine. Tried to fix that with a graduated density filter with a reddish hue with some saturation added.
Added a bit of additional haze…maybe a bit too much.
Outside of that I used my standard workflow with all the knobs and buttons in scene referred…but I have been lowering the amount of colour correction I’ve been doing lately.
