When I try astrometric resolution using the Gaia DR3 catalogs (downloaded locally) on my images, it doesn’t work. I get the error message: “Astrometric resolution failed. The image could not be aligned to the reference stars.”
I have correctly entered the search element “ic1805”, the focal length, and the pixel dimensions. It works with the NOMAD catalog.
I have the same problem with spectrometric calibration. Using the Gaia DR3 catalogs (downloaded locally), my Sony IMX571 sensor, and an Optolong L-Pro filter, it doesn’t work either. I get the error message: “Error: No blocks were detected. + Catalog error, no stars identified!” It also works with NOMAD.
The first says that astrometry cannot be performed because Siril can’t match detected stars and catalog stars.
The other message is because your local catalogue is not well installed. You probably only installed the astrometry catalogue why you need photometric one too.
I successfully downloaded the astrometry catalog and all the catalogs (48 cat) for SPCC. I also correctly linked them in Siril’s preferences.
For both functions, it works with NOMAD
I still have same problem, when astrometry cat loaded then system return error saying the checksum not corresponding. it it possible to use the file unziped without using checksum? There is also another problem, the SPCC cat is not loaded in full because of the downloading error.
I enclosed the logs of the said errors. 2025-12-26T01.40.11 error install astrometry cat.log.txt (7.8 KB) 2025-12-26T15.42.05 astrometry problem.log.txt (7.4 KB)
