Purple bicycle hanging from the eaves

This is from the same place as the flower pictures I recently posted in the capture challenge thread. I think it has potential but I’m not really happy with the result of my own processing, so I’m curious to see what others can do with it.

I like @Thomas_Do’s edits. For me, they answer the question I asked myself about the OOC JPEG: what is the picture about?

Is the image about the rich texture of the weathered wood? Or the roof tiles? Or the downpipe, or bicycle, or foliage, or whatever-it-is on the left? The elements don’t work well together, for me.

@Thomas_Do’s edits fix that. The result is about the thingy, and the vegetation and the bike. The wood and roof and gutter are now background elements, obviously subservient to the foreground. There is a balance that the original lacks. The incongruous bike stands out, especially its artificial colour contrasting the natural browns and green. We see more clearly the plant reaching up, lovingly entwining around the bike.

Nice image. I came to the point where I almost always add some local contrast and decided it doesn’t need it. dt 4.8.0

I was busy the last days so only have time to respond now.
Great to see many different approaches!

@snibgo Thanks for the analysis, I think you’re right. I’ll think a bit more about the composition if I ever visit that place again.
