Question about image tagging via SQL

Hi everyone,

my tags were a bit messed up und I got them in order by working directly on the database via SQL.

I changed data in the following tables of data.db and library.db:

data.db-> tags
library.db → used_tags
library.db → tagged_images

I tested my changes on a copy of the original db’s and they are ok. Now I’m not shure what to do with the XMP-files. Do I have to change them as well or are they automatically overwritten the next time I use the images in darktable ?

The XMP files are overwritten when opening the image in darkroom mode. Or when changing anything on the image on lighttable, like rating, color label, metadata, …
The easiest however is to just select all images and click the “write sidecar files” in the “history stack” module on lighttable.
