I notice that on the first screen of darkTable 5.4 where you select the workspace, there is an ‘X’ in the upper right corner. Usually, the ‘X’ would function to terminate the program, however in darkTable it seems to bypass the workspace selection and continues on with an undefined workspace.
Is there a reason to bypass the workspace selection and seemingly leave it undefined. For what or when would that be useful?
I might be wrong but I suspect you have allow for multiple workspaces selected in your preferences. This is a new feature in DT5.4. I unticked it and the X shuts down DT on me as you would expect. I presume the X behaves differently if you are allowing work in multiple workspaces. Just an educated guess on my part.
