Question regarding newly added camera

Hello, I recently acquired a FujiFilm XT30iii. This is a new-ish camera, and when I try to open (uncompressed) RAFs, I get a message regarding the camera model not being supported. I did some digging, saw that it wasn’t supported, looked at Github however and saw that support for this camera was merged into rawspeed (Fujifilm X-T30 III support by kmilos · Pull Request #930 · darktable-org/rawspeed · GitHub)

However, I’ve tried multiple recent darktable nightly builds and still receive a message that the camera model is unsupported. Any ideas on what I’m missing? Do the nightly DT builds not use rawspeed’s develop branch? Thought about compiling myself but thought to ask first.

I think the rawspeed submodule needs to be updated into dt master branch. Normally that happens a few weeks before release.

Makes sense. I don’t work with git submodules a lot so wasn’t sure how it worked really. I’ll look into that. Thank you.

Welcome!

Nope, the stable branch. (Which, as pointed out, usually gets updated close to a release.)

In most cases there is actually no need to compile, just make the changes to your local cameras.xml directly. (You might need to reset the raw black/white level module or clear history afterwards.)
