This is a view of Rabbit Creek that I drive through on my way to work every day. At the shaming of @darix I finally dragged my poor camera out of the bag and decided to actually start shooting some photos again, so here’s a view from a past morning:
In my rush to use a camera again I forgot to check the ISO I was at, so this is at 800 rather than my usual 200. Noise is a bit of a problem but once the chroma noise is gone it’s not so bad. (I regularly add noise back into images like this anyway). The colors down here right now are dreary at best, and honestly it’s the textures that speak more to the landscape here than the colors (all crap brown and dull greens). Have fun!
My third Play Raw today! All done very quickly in GIMP. I gave the full image a slight colour boost and then, using my equal luminosity plug-in. made local adjustments to brightness and contrast.
Another try at this image, just to see what I could achieve with the colours. Taken to an extreme degree! The same process as previously followed by my GIMP equal saturation plug-in.
